How ITELLMOTION Works

ITELLMOTION (formerly Auto Motion Alert) is an attachable front signal light, an LED strip with a few additional patented components, that can mounted anywhere on the front of a vehicle. ITM answers the critical question that all pedestrians and cyclists ask: “Is the approaching vehicle slowing or going?”

ITELLMOTION was developed to enable moving vehicles to communicate information to pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles by illuminating a yellow signal when decelerating and a white signal when the vehicle is accelerating or moving at a steady speed.

This addresses a critical gap in the knowledge of other road-users – is that vehicle slowing or going? Between busy intersections and ambient lighting or weather conditions, it can be hard to tell. Pedestrians and other road-users can benefit from this information – and it will save lives.

  • A thin strip of powerful LED lights
  • Mounts to the front of any vehicle
  • Connects to vehicle’s battery for reliable power

Information Communicated

When operational, the ITM strip communicates the acceleration status of the vehicle. If the vehicle is decelerating, the strip glows yellow. If the vehicle is accelerating, it glows white. Yellow is slowing; white is going.

The LEDs will also communicate velocity as they move sequential. If the vehicle is increasing in speed, the white lights move faster along the strip. If the vehicle is decreasing in speed, the yellow lights move slower along the strip.

Just as mandated rear brake lights provide information to those behind a vehicle, ITELLMOTION will provide information to pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles in front.  The luminosity on the lights is variable and even at night can be seen distinctly from headlights.

Slowing

The bright white represents the vehicle is in motion. ITM changes to a moving amber light as the vehicle starts slowing down. The slower the vehicle goes, the slower the amber light go until the vehicle reaches a complete stop and the light bar goes fully amber.

Going

The bright amber represents the vehicle at a stop position. ITM lights change to a moving white light as the vehicle starts moving. The faster the vehicle goes, the faster the white light goes until the vehicle reaches 35 miles an hour and the light bar goes fully white.
